2022 Revere

This wine is the vision of winery owner George Green. He has been working for years to create this blend, modeled after some of his favorite California wines. This impressive wine was grown in a new vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. That was followed by weeks of below normal temperatures giving the vines a chance to recover.

Our inaugural vintage of this wine has layers of cherry, raspberries, leather, plum, spice and vanilla barrel aromas. The structure of the wine is meant for aging, yet is approachable now with briary fruit and smoky, cocoa oak flavors followed by a long baking spice and dark blackberry finish. 

Enjoy with salt crusted ribeye steak cooked Santa Maria style.

2023 Meg’s Pinot Noir

Our delicious Pinot Noir comes from grapes grown at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2023 vintage was late due to a wet spring and late summer with no heat spikes. However, this gave us lots of hang time for great flavors.  The delicious wine balances fruit and earthy aromas perfectly. Notes of plum, strawberry and subtle earth jump out of the glass followed by nutmeg and spice from the new oak. In the mouth there are juicy tannins and light acidity to welcome the flavors of plum, earth and barrel spice. This is a wine that is perfect to sip on a warm autumn night. 

San Saba Vineyard

This amazing vineyard was planted in 1974 and is located at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands and produces grapes of incomparable depth and flavor. The grapes were hand-picked at the peak of flavor and pressed within hours of harvest to ensure the flavor was maintained.

2022 Sangiovese

Our Sangiovese was grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy, where it is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. That was followed by weeks of below normal temperatures giving the vines a chance to recover.

Smoky cherry, dried herbs and cranberry aromas open this wine followed by juicy, yet firm tannins in the mouth along with flavors of rhubarb and blackberries. Serve with steak Florentine.

2023 Estate Malbec

This impressive Malbec was grown in a new vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2023 vintage was late due to unseasonable low temperatures with very few heat spikes. However, this gave the grapes extended hang time to develop great flavors. 

Ripe boysenberry, baking spices, and toasty oak lead off the aromas followed by a rich jammy fruit body with velvety tannins in the mouth.  This combined with good acidity, sweet tobacco and blackberry flavors make a wine to be enjoyed for years to come. Pair with a nice rack of lamb chops.

2023 Chardonnay

Our delicious Chardonnay comes from grapes grown at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2023 vintage was late due to a wet spring and early summer. However, this gave us lots of hang time for great flavors. The beautiful light straw color of this full bodied, yet focused wine starts with ripe apple and lime followed by apricot and ripe peaches. Hints of graham cracker, vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon from the oak barrels round out the aromas. The viscous mouthfeel carries the crisp apple and citrus flavors that dance around with baking spices to a long, butterscotch, toasty oak finish. 

Enjoy this with grilled fish in the summer or Dungeness crab and clarified butter in the fall or winter. 

Monterey County Vineyards

San Saba vineyard was planted in 1974 and is located at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands and produces grapes of incomparable depth and flavor. The grapes were hand-picked at the peak of flavor and pressed within hours of harvest to ensure the flavor was maintained.

Brayden Vineyard is down the street from San Saba and is farmed by the same company.

2021 Tess’ Blend

This impressive Bordeaux Blend was grown in a new vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2021 growing season was outstanding in the Santa Clara Valley, allowing for a medium crop with long hang time on the vine, giving intense and complex flavors. Tess’ Blend is made to represent the best the Verde Vineyard has to offer and is made to drink now but will last years in your cellar. 

This hedonistic wine is defined by its complexity and depth. Dark blackberry and plum compote along with baking spices and violet notes are framed by leather, vanilla, coffee and sweet tobacco. Big silky tannins and balanced acidity round out the finish, leaving you wanting more. 

This wine drinks well now but is made to age for years to come. Pair this with some perfectly cook Wagyu steak or even a lush chocolate dessert.

We are excited for the second release of our new George’s (GG) Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2021 growing season was outstanding in the Santa Clara Valley, allowing for a medium crop with long hang time on the vine, giving intense and complex flavors. 

This wine is Gregarious and Gargantuan on the palette. The Gratuitous and Gleaming blackberry and cherry fruit aromas are Glorious and Gleefully mouth filling. The Gloating and Galivanting tannins are Gorgeous and Genuine as they Gracefully frame the Gracious and Groovy oak flavors. Drink this Giving wine through 2040. 

Eat with a Gluttonous BBQ steak dinner, it’ll make you feel Glamorous.

2022 Estate Dornfelder

This unique varietal was developed in Germany in 1955 and was grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. That was followed by weeks of below normal temperatures giving the vines a chance to recover. This velvety textured, dark colored wine has boysenberry syrup and dried herb and coffee aromas in the nose. The silky tannins combine with blueberry flavors and a toasted coconut and baking spice finish. Enjoy this wine with some herb crusted leg of lamb.
